Support » Fixing WordPress » Importing <$BlogItemUrl$> Tag Data from Blogger

  • My blogger.com blog made heavy use of the <$BlogItemUrl$> tag. The WordPress import tool grabbed my message and title content fine, but it dropped the URL info contained in <$BlogItemUrl$>.

I pretty much can’t move away from Blogger without being able to capture that data.

Is there any way to make WordPress import the <$BlogItemUrl$> data? I’ll worry about using it later…

    Thanks,
    Kevin

  • In which WP field do you want to store this information?

My site is cryptogon.com. Most of my stories include links to external news stories; every time you see a ‘:.’. That’s a link to a story. Sadly, I have thousands of entries like this.

Honeslty, I don’t have the slightest clue of how I could make use of those data in WP, even if they could be parsed.

    Custom fields?

Ideally, it would be nice if I could get a link at the bottom of each post that just said ‘Source’ or something like that, with the URLs contained in the $BlogItemUrl$ tag….

    Thanks,
    Kevin
