• Firstly, using WP 1.2.2 just because I wanted to be sure I was stable to start with. πŸ˜‰ Plan on upgrading sometime later to a nightly build.

Downloaded my .sql file from the server, renamed it import.txt (I assume this is right)

Uploaded and then proceeded to the import file. It says all the posts have been imported, but *nothing* has been. I’m confused. I tried with the unaltered .sql file and the same thing happens.

I’ve checked the database directly and there’s nothing there. MT version is 3.11, jic there’s a issue with that version. Site in question is in my profile…WP is in /blog/

    Thanks!

MT itself has a feature to export all of your posts as a .txt file. That is what you want.

Thanks, I didn’t even think to look there. LOL

I have an issue. I switched webhosts and also from MT to WordPress. I exported my MySQL DB as mentioned above before I cut ties with my previous host. Now I can’t get to my old MT installation and obviously I can’t import the MT stuff. Does anyone know if there is another way other than installing MT temporarily to get the data out of it? Thanks.
