   Hi there,

   Im importing all posts, comments, categries, etc. from my old blog (WordPress MU updated to WordPress 3.0) to a new installation (WP 3.0.5).

   I used the export tool to generate the XML file with all the contents. The problem is that when i import this file using the WordPress import plugin all posts, comments, etc. are well migrated but the number of categories has increased from 9 to 606. For example the categoriy BVMC (slug:bvmc) have duplicateds like BVMC (slug:bvmc-1, bvmc-2, bvmc-3) etc.

   I think that is possible the plugin FeedWordpress is the cause but im not sure. ¿Any help please?

   Try deactivating all plugins before trying another import. I import test data into my dev sites all of the time but I've never had this happen.

   Hi @esmi and thanks a lot for your tip, i deactivate all plugins except the W3 Total Cache plugin and the import went well.
