• Hi,
I’m absolutely new to the world of WP. So, please forgive me if I’ve overlooked something obvious.
I have a Movable Type Weblog on my German domain and want to translate it into English.
Rather than install a second instance of MT on my English domain, I thought I’d try out something new – and hopefully a little more intuitive than the old blog.
The installation was fun. Also, importing the entries seemed to go smoothly, but when I checked, I found that all the HTML-tags linking my photos had been converted to text.
Also, the German Umlaut characters were transmogrified into something unreadable to human eyes, but this doesn’t really matter as I want to translate the texts anyway.
Maybe someone here knows a solution to the import problem?
Here’s the address of the new blog (I didn’t change the standard layout yet – after all I might have to go for another MT installation in the end, – if the import doesn’t work out):
    http://www.travelphoto.net/a-photo-a-day/wordpress/
The original (German) version is at http://www.reisefotos.de/weblog/

    Hi,
I solved the problem by replacing the HTML < and > by < and >.
Maybe this could be done automatically on import?
Also, I couldn’t find an export function, so I exported the table, dropped it, replaced the above code and re-imported it. An export feature would be nice…
