    Hi

I'm a newbie to WP so please be patient!!

Have setup new site for my wife at: http://www.blondeonaboat.com/

We cruise a lot and over the past few years have run blogs at blogstop.co.uk. See:

    http://helen-haynes-quest.blogspot.co.uk/ (2012)
    http://helen-haynes.blogspot.co.uk/ (2011)

I want to be able to import those aged posts into the relevant year pages that you'll see on the WP site.

I have tried setting the Settings -> Reading to the page required but all imported posts seem to go to the same page.

    What am I doing wrong?

Regards & thanks for any help posted.

All posts don't go to a 'page' - they go to your post archive.

Pages are pages, static places for static content.

Posts are dynamic, and they all get archived together as posts. You don't send posts to a page. You can sort and refine posts based on categories, or tags. Each category and tag technically has it's own archive page which would only show posts with that cat/tag.

You can further customize your display through page templates if you only want certain posts from certain criteria in certain places.

Posts also automatically have year based, and month based archives - so they can be sorted that way as well.

    Many thank Voodoo

I understand now. How would you go about it?

    I appreciated your help.

I wouldn't know what your final vision looks like, per se!

    But as you can see:
    http://www.blondeonaboat.com/2011/

for instance gives all posts from 2011... I would just provide annual links if that is how you want things displayed

Possibly add annual tabs up in the menu or something? Or even create a menu in the sidebar.... you could just add in custom URLs to a menu crafted for each year....
