"Important" missed features in WP!

    Hi

    I would to suggest the following options for WP.
    (I’m sorry, I posted it in the Troubleshooting section, too), but as we are not able to edit nor delete post, so I may re-post it here.
    When I create a new item (post, page, category), I’d like to be able to individually Enable/Disable comments/author name or date
    for each new item added or being edited.
    So, in my mind, the following options are worthy to be added in WP. This would be highly appreciable.
    For each new item created, added or edited, we should be able to:

    Hide/Show date for this post
    Hide/Show date for this page
    Hide/Show date for this category
    Enable/Disable comments for this post
    Enable/Disable comments for this page
    Enable/Disable comments for this category
    Hide/Show author(s) name(s) for this post
    Hide/Show author(s) name(s) for this page
    Hide/Show author(s) name(s) for this category

    The order of execution priority could be post>page>category. That is, if a post set up to hide/show comments or dates, this will have the priority over the page’s hide/show option and so on… for the category and the remaining options…

    These things are all visual, so you might be hard-pressed convincing a few people around here to make those sort of changes.

    The big argument for is just as you’ve said. It would be nice ot be able to control this from within the interface.

    The big arguments against are that it’s visual and can easily be turned on and off globally by modifying template files, CSS, etc. This sort of functionality is also something that can be ported to a plugin without to many hassles so there’s no need for it in the core application.

    As a personal thing I’d probably lean towards not having that in, mianly because I would be able to make those sort of changes easily if (when) I need to, and having more choices to clutter up everyone’s admin panels can create a whole lot of confusion with users.

    I’m sorry, I don’t agree with your arguments! 😮
    You say that you prefer to make things easily! How easily is that?
    It is not easy at all! Rather, with such options, thing get more easy, for me and for beginners at least!
    For you, maybe it doesn’t matter as you are skilled in web development but for the majority of WP users it is not.
    If we have the choice to disable these options, it becomes as if we don’t have them. So, where is the problem to have them included with the possibility to enable/disable them? Those who prefer not to have such options, they choose to disable them and continue to use WP as if they are not available. And those who want such options will appreciate their availability.
    On other hand, I didn’t find any plugin that offers such options in simple and straightforward way.
    Do you know already available plugin that provide such options? I longtime searched the plugins section, but didn’t find any relevant one. This is why I posted my topic.
