I want to import a text file into a text widget on my sidebar and have the text file which is chosen to be based off of the title of the page. Each page needs this same widget but needs to have different content. I want to do it with just one widget because eventually there may be thousands of pages each with different content which I would rather just manage text files than mange a list of a thousand widgets each only showing on their own page.

I am pretty new to word press so feel free to be as detailed as possible. I also am not positive on how to upload the txt files to the sever other than just ftping them to the directory so feel free to comment on that as well.

    Thanks in advance.

You insert text into the text widget while in the WordPress dashboard. You can key it in or cut/paste. You do not need ftp.

Look for a plugin to do what you want. There are some that show excerpts.

I want to actually pull text from a text file which is on my server. I can not find a plugin which will do this but if anyone has any recommendations that would be awesome.

If there is not a plugin I need help writing html into it to do this if possible.

Thurstmw, I am looking for exactly the same. Were you able to find anything?

I am still searching between inserting text to include plugins.

    Thanks,
