How do i import myspace blogs? I have gone to the mysapce rss and downloaded it and imported it....but it only imports the first couple sentences of the blog, not the full thing.
any ideas?

Posted 4 years ago #I registered and came here today hoping to ask the same question. Im interested in seeing how this would be possible so I dont have to manage multiple blogs...
Anyone have any ideas? Ive seen a few extensions that say they can do it, but getting them setup looks WAY too complicated and there has to be an easier way to do this...

It seems like it wouldn't be hard to write a perl script or something though that could scrape your blog pages, extract the data, and build it into an XML file one could import into WP. Unfortunately, I don't have the coding skills to write that.
I do think this is a major needed tool. I hate MySpace, but it's where I started, so I have a lot of content there to move, which I am doing manually right now. It's a big community that is ripe for the picking as new WP users, but not being able to bring in old content will turn people off real fast.

it's sad to think that all the comments that I got will not copy over....

I have to say I am a little frustrated at the lack of support here! I mean, I think WordPress is great, but my previous two questions were basically unanswered. I know I am an annoying newbie, but this stuff is literally rocket science if you're coding-challenged.

Well, perhaps because none of use who know how to write an importer use MySpace?
Does MySpace have any way to export full content (comments included would be nice)? If not, then you will likely have to resort to the cut and paste approach. If there's no way to get the content, then there's no way to import it.
So, be frustrated all you like, but you're not getting support because you're asking for something that does not actually exist.
Edit: There are tools to create full RSS feeds for MySpace blogs online. Google found this one for me: http://makedatamakesense.com/myspace/ . You could use these to make RSS feeds and then import that. Won't get comments though. Can't do that until MySpace actually has an API and a way to download comments and all the associated information.
