   I've mostly successfully imported content from Blogger into
   Wordpress, but the import is losing all the "<" and ">"
   from the HTML/formatting tags in the process.

   Does anyone know why or how this can be avoided? Or fixed?

   You're the third person with this problem and I haven't seen any follow up comments indicating what the fix is.

   Did you get this sorted out? And if so, how?

   I have a friend who has the same problem, is there a bug that needs to be rectified?

   There definitely is. Here's a workaround.
