I am using WooCommerce v2.0.12 and would like to know if anyone has a solution for importing tax rates for Illinois into WooCommerce? I have been searching and haven’t found anything yet.

Anyone have any ideas on where to get the current tax rates table for Illinois 2013? I would prefer a CSV file so I can just import them in directly.

    Thanks for help/advice!

I was able to find a free plugin that will import Tax Rates from a CSV file.

There is also a link to how to download the current tax rates from taxrates.com (for free) as a CSV file.

Plus a tweak to make this solution work in WooCommerce v2.0+

Great solution, works perfectly if you follow the instructions.

I have WordPress 3.5.1 and WooCommerce 2.0.19 installed.

I can only add so many zipcode entries to the tax table for taxes to work. If I add one more zipcode it stops working. If I remove an existing zipcode that tested OK it will work again.

I have 12 separate tax rate entries with a total of about 300 zipcodes distributed among them. That’s about 1/2 of what I need to enter for New York State.

Has anyone seen this behavior and/or have any suggestions?

Adding too many lines of tax rates into the tax table in WooCommerce will make your site very slow or even unusable. I had the same problem when I was working on WooCommerce site for a California client. I uploaded thousands of lines of tax rate to WooCommerce. My site was slow and tax won’t calculate at checkout. I wasn’t able to do any thing with the tax page either. I had to clear out all the entries.

I am now using tax table from http://www.woosalestax.com. Their table are very compact and easy to upload. I haven’t have any problem since then. I think they have tax rate table for all 52 states. Give it try. They are not free, but very low price. You won’t be regret with the valuable time saved and not to mention the frustrations. Hope this help..

I’m having sort of the same issue – if i enter just:
    Country
    State
    Rate
and nothing else – it charges tax OK
Put MY zip code next to the record mentioned above…Poof does not charge tax.

BTW – i’m logged into the site as myself and my shipping and billing address are the correct state and the correct zip.

If you really can’t figure out what is wrong with your tax problem after trying every thing. I would suggest that you to try out the no fix no charge Tax Setup service from http://www.woosalestax.com.
