    Hi everybody

This is my 1st posting, the 1st of many I hope.Basically, I have decided I would really like a blog.....wordpress and it's features has been heavily advised to me.
Basically I have searched the web for a theme, and I have found 1 I really like -> link Polished Theme
I am relatively new to WordPress so please bear with me - All I want to know is to how to get started.
    1. I have downloaded 2.9.2 WordPress
    2. I have downloaded my selected blog theme
    3. I have my domain name and web hosting set up
    4. I use Adobe Dreamweaver as my web editor and photoshop for images.

Is it a matter of simply uploading my wordpress and theme files to my hosting...? And then editing the homepage/blog etc...
Is it all quite intensive/complex to get started ?

Any help/tips/advice is massively appreciated !

    Thanks everybody

    Brian

If you are new to WordPress why not use the latest version? (3.0)

    Thanks people

All good, I am reading alot of documentation from the wordpress website (i.e. link above) some of the features seem very powerful. Installation seems to be straightforward, fingers crossed :)

As for ConorP - Basically my web host (justhost) had a wordpress wizard and the latest version was 2.9.2, however after reading wordpress website, I think I will unzip/download the latest version (3.0) locally and upload once I have ammended files

Thanks everybody - keep any other useful information coming.
    All much appreciated

If you host offers a 1-click 2.9.2 install, you could use that first and then immediately upgrade to 3.0. You might find that easier than installing manually.
