Impact of TablePress on TinyMCE?

    Tobias, thanks for what appears to be the table plugin that saves my bacon. I do, however, have one concern to ask you about.

    Is there ANY possibility that TablePress might affect TinyMCE in such a way that it would make the Visual Editor appear broken in other places?

    I’m asking because today I installed both TablePress and SimplePress, and in SimplePress, TinyMCE doesn’t work. The developers suggest that while they dig for answers on THEIR end, that I should also look into any plugin on my system that has anything to do with TinyMCE, as unless specific criteria are followed, themes and plugins can render TinyMCE useless for purposes other than posts, pages and custom post types.

    So I’m asking. Just in case.

    In any event, thanks for another great piece of work.

    Hi,

    thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

    Well, TablePress does add a button to the TinyMCE editor on the regular post edit screens of WordPress, so I can’t rule out that this is the reason for the problem, you are experiencing.

    If possible, and if you want, I’d like to take a direct look at the page with the error. Maybe I can find something that could cause this with the Chrome Dev Tools.

    After some further troubleshooting, it looks like it’s a theme-related issue. But if that turns out to be a red herring, I’ll definitely shoot you the information.

    Hi,

    that would be another possibility, indeed. To be sure, just switch to a WordPress Default theme temporarily.

    Tobias – when I switched over to Twenty Twelve, everything worked fine. False alarm. It’s not you, it’s my theme.
