Imbalance Theme: Fixed header and menu (3 posts)

    Hi guys,

    My website is: http://www.sianwilliams.net

Does anyone know how to insert a fixed header in to the imbalance theme? I want the logo and menu to stay fixed while the rest of the content scrolls. The base of the menu is marked by a solid grey line. I want everything above this line to stay fixed and the content below the grey line to scroll.

I have made a child theme and have managed to get the logo static but the menu gets a bit messy because of the collapse option for the 'blog' menu item. There is no "#header" in the CSS for this theme it isn't simply a matter of applying "#header { position: fixed; z-index: 999;}" like in other themes so I have been singling out "#logo" and "#menu" in my child theme.

Given my logo isn't 980 wide like the rest of the home page content, everything scrolls around the sides of the logo, which looks messy. I want a solid white header underneath my logo. Do I need to insert an image beneath it? If so, how do I do this as I don't think I can add an image widget to the header area.

Can anyone help? So sorry my request is to fiddly!

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Andrew,

I have posted in that forum already but unfortunately no one has been able to help me as of yet. Given Imbalance is a popular theme among many WordPress users, I hoping the WordPress forum will be able to help.

    Thanks,

    siandwilliams
