Images won't show up on homepage

I just made a wordpress for my illustration portfolio. I chose a theme I liked, Hatch, and I uploaded 8 posts that were all images with a couple lines of text. My homepage is just grey squares rather than thumbnails. The images only show up when you click on a grey square and are taken to the post’s page. Any idea how to get the thumbnails to show up?
