• Hi everyone,

I have been reading a lot about problems with loading images, wrong path, permissions, etc…

I could’nt find the answer to my problem, which seems to be the same as a lot of poeple but when I do what poeple suggests, it still does’nt work for me.

My problem is, I create a post, I “add image” in the post (add image button, browse from computer, click upload, then click on “insert into post” and I see the line of code for the image to be displayed in the post)
Then, I have a “no icon” in the Media Library for this image, and a “no icon” also on my web site, in the post.

The path in my Settings/Miscellaneous is set to shoot files in wp_content/upload and classified by year and month. When I check on the server, not only I see the …/upload/2010/03 but I also see the files in the folder, and when I put my cursor over the images, I see thumbnails showing the actual images, which tells me the images are “ok”.

Also, the path for the image (when I go in Media Library and I Edit the image) shows something like: …?getfile=149, and its the same path as in the line of code in the post.

Permissions for the folder and the images inside are set to “read”, “write” and “execute” (I have been reading in some posts about the 777 thing…I hope by doing the above mentioned settings, I’m actually doing this 777 thing?)

And finally, when I’am looking at my web site and I place my mouse cursor over the image with the “no icon”, it actually show me the name of the file (I thought it was just the name given to the image, in the “title” field which had the same name as the file, but by changing the title of the file for something else, the mouse over still show the name of the .jpg file! So it sees it without being able to show it?

I’m using WP 2.9.2 (and I was with 2.9.1 few hours ago, and I had the problem, so upgraded to 2.9.2 but still have this problem)
And it’s the first time I try to add an image, so I cannot say that it use to work before.

Thanx in advance for any help!

    Stephane
