images vs. text for links page

    i am creating a links page for my website, some are recipical links some are not. Anyway is it better to just have text links as opposed to images. I started with images and they have alt text descriptions. And then I have just 2 regular text links. I need to know for spider crawling if one of these would be better than the other before I put either a whole bunch on image links or use regular text links
