[resolved] Images Upload to gallery, but Do Not Display in Posts (6 posts)

    Brief rundown:

I'm using WordPress 3.0 (Brand New install on Readyhosting, and yes, I'm new to WordPress)

    Theme: Elegant Grunge

I've tested this in Firefox and Chrome, same results.

    PROBLEM:

I installed and set up my first WordPress site. I like the way it looks. But when I try to upload a picture from my computer and insert it into a post, it simply does not display. I can see the picture and edit it in the gallery, but it will no show in the post.

When I had the frames option turned on, the empty frame would show on the page. I turned it off, and nothing shows.

This page http://todahabukoryu.org/wp/?page_id=59 should have a picture right under the main heading. Nada.

I hope someone can help me with this. I tried calling Readyhosting support and they suggested I try the WordPress Forums. I tried looking through the archives, but I didn't see my exact problem.

    THANKS!

Check your uploads path in Settings/Media.

    Thanks!

    Here's what I have:

    Uploading Files

Store uploads in this folder wp-content/uploads

    Should it be something else?

Is this a permissions problem and if so, how would I change that?

    Have you tried:

    - deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    - switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

Your post images are being displayed using a non-standard method and that appears to be where the problems are.

Wow. I disabled ALL plugins and nothing changed. But I changed to the default theme and it works fine! Now I just have to either customize that theme or find another one that works. Thanks!!!

Interesting follow-up. After I was successfully able to upload an image from the default theme, I tried switching back to Elegant Grunge. Not only was the image still displaying, but I was able to upload and display another image within that theme. I don't know why this was a fix, but I'm glad it worked out :)
