• Hello,
I’ve been been setting up and customizing a page recently, using the plugins Postie and CQS. Recently, my images I upload through the wordpress control panel have been shrinking themselves and I don’t know why.

I’m using images of 640X480 size as a maximum, yet nothing seeems to go over 450 pixels-ish. When I load an image and send to the editor I make sure to click on show full size image and link to none (how I want it). Yet they come out small. I didn’t have this problem until yesterday.

If I send an image using Postie it starts out alright- full size that is, but if I then go and edit the post inside of wordpress, such as writing some text or only changing the title- without even touching the image, on saving the post and returning to the site it has shrunk again.

I’ve checked there is no maximum image size in the Postie setup as well.

I tried reloading the default theme as I thought maybe I had altered some code somewhere by mistake – yet it’s the same thing. I’ve deactivated Postie temporarily to see if it helps- still the same. I use Firefox but have tested in IE and still the same. Searches here haven’t yielded anything.

I didn’t have this problem a couple of days ago- I’m sure of it. Does anyone have any idea what’s going on please?
    Thankyou

PS I am new to wordpress since a few days ago.

PS I’d like to add images are only scaling themselves down if they are too big in the horizontal/ X direction. An image I’ve just tested with that is over 640 high but 400 or so in width was unaffected when fiddled with. If that makes a difference in what the problem could be.

Also the template I’m using is based on the default one- so the width should be big enough anyway to allow images of 640 pixels wide without having to scale them.
    Thanks

thats not true if its using the same widths.

the “narrow-column” div width inside kubrick is 495pixels.

Excellent- thankyou whooami! and also for the super-quick reply. With that I’ve managed to correct my problem by changing that number to 640.

    Thanks very much
    🙂
