[resolved] Images not populating after update to WP 3.6 (13 posts)

    Hi again,

I updated to 3.6 over the weekend and noticed that a new post I published this morning did not include the summary image (I currently do not have a generic image set). After double checking the image path I did a little poking around discovered that it was not related to the current post, none of my posts have the image path populated when I look at the source code.

Here's an example, I published this post on Friday:
    http://helloracefans.com/races/ten-things/whitney/

Here is the corresponding tweet that shows the summary image (pre-update to 3.6):
    https://twitter.com/helloracefans/status/363280823916957696

But if you look at the source code of the post now, you'll see that twitter:image is blank:
    <meta name="twitter:image" content="">

Now that I think about, I also updated the plug-in to the most recent version right before updating to 3.6, so there's a chance it's not only related to 3.6?

At any rate, please let me know if you have any questions, etc... and thanks again!

    dana

Is this the feature image? Be more precise please. I need to know your configuration with the plugin.

It is the summary image. I only use summary on my site and have the "Chose what type of card you want to use" in General settings set to summary.

Please let me know if you need more information.

Yeah how is the image associated with the post? Just describe me how you do that?

Here's an example of the image association from a post that was published pre-3.6 update. You'll see that the summary image is associated (and if you follow that image url the image is available:

Here is the Tweet from last week for this post that shows the image:
    https://twitter.com/helloracefans/status/363280823916957696

And here is the url of the page now. If you view source you see that twitter:image is blank:

Ok and it worked with my plugin before with the same configuration? I see a custom field named "post-image" but this field is not included in my code so this grabs nothing.

Yes, it worked with the same configuration as you see in the screenshot. The tweet url I included that showed the image was from the same configuration prior to the update to WP 3.6.

post-image is my own custom field (to populate the header image and caption at the top of the post).

So it's "cardImage" field which is not used in your case?

Can you activate custom metabox in plugin setting ?

In fact you can't use cardImage without using custom metabox.

Custom metabox has always been activated in my settings.

And yes, it's cardImage that is not populating to twitter:image in the source code of my posts. Sorry for any confusion on that!

As you see in the screenshot the image path is included in the cardImage metabox but when you look at the source code of the post (which you can view here: http://helloracefans.com/races/ten-things/whitney/) you see that the image path is not there. But it was there prior to updating to 3.6 (as you can see in this tweet, which was before my update to 3.6: https://twitter.com/helloracefans/status/363280823916957696)
