• We’ve recently moved a blog from one server to another. Now I’m seeing a rather strange problem. It appears that I forgot to backup the uploaded images, but after creating the upload directory (with the proper permissions) it looks like MCE isn’t linking the images correctly.

When I upload an image, it’s stored on the server and the thumbnail is created properly. However, when I drag the image into the post, the link is written incorrectly, and doesn’t include the subdirectory where wordpress is located. It’s like MCE thinks wordpress is at the site root.

Even stranger is the fact that IE seems to be working properly. I’ve tried creating posts with images in both Firefox and Internet Explorer, and it works in IE but not in FF.

  • Look under the dashboard options under General and check if the wordpress and blog url paths are correct.

Sorry, I probably should have mentioned that was one of the first things I did when I realized it was a path problem. They are both set correctly.
