I've gotten multisite up and running on a Windows 2008 server running IIS. I can create and navigate to my sub-domains, and I can upload images (and they go into the blogs.dir as they are supposed to.

Problem is, I cant see anyting in my media libraries. It's just a bunch of boxes with red x's in them.

I have full admin access to the server, and everything on the root site works perfectly. I can remote into the server, and I verified the files are exactly where they should be, so why can't I get thumbnails?

    Any ideas?

  2. Are you using web.config or .htaccess?

    web.config

I had to create it and place it in the root folder of the blog. I've cut and pasted three or four of the web.config's that have been posted in this forum, but to no effect.

  4. Sadly, that's what the issue is. It's not set up correcrly, and I don't know what they right one is :/

There must be some way to fix this. It seems rather rediculous. The multisite option is perfect for what my client wants... it's rather silly to get 90% of the way there, only to be stopped by the fact that I can't use the images I upload.

  6. There is, but you're on IIS, and there are very few IIS/Multisite experts out there.

Yeah, I understand. I'm just going to work around the issue using the following steps:

    1) I'm using the Weaver II (pro) theme for my client sites. I've created custom headers for the clients, which I copied directly into to folder containing the theme's default headers on the server. My 'new' header images now come up in the list of selectable defaults, so this idea works like a champ.

    2) Installed a network plug-in that allows me to share media across my network from my root site. Anything that I need to post onto a specific page will be uploaded into the media library of the root site (works great) and then is imported directly into the client's multisite setup using the media-insert icon on the page post screen.

It's more work, and I won't be able to have a background image, but it gets the job done. Considering Weaver II pro is extremely customizable, I think this will be a solid work around for now.
