Images Keep Getting Smaller and Smaller!! (10 posts)

    My son and I created a WordPress website a couple months ago for a group and over the last couple of months, the picture images keep getting smaller and smaller (especially in the sidebars where I've readjusted the widgets numerous times), no matter how I've tried to adjust the media settings or individual photo settings.

    We are pretty new to all this, so I need things explained really simply.

    Thanks in advance for any help.

    Can someone help? Have I inadvertently "nested" photos inside other photos? I have no idea how to fix this.

    Without seeing the site, really no way to help :).

    I know you probably need to see code...please let me know from which area.

    What page is this on? I don't see anything amiss on the homepage.

    The problem is the images HAD been a good bit larger, but now, no matter what I try to adjust, they stay smaller...and get smaller whenever I add to or switch out images.

    Add the following Css to you custom css editor. If you don't have a custom css editor you can use the one that the plugin jetpack has. You can adjust the 250 however you want. Your sidebar is currently 309px wide. So i Wouldn't go above 300px.

    #sidebar-right .widget {
    width: 250px;
    }

    I wish I were more tech savvy...I will try that. What about the header? Is there any of my CSS I can show you that would help the analysis?

    Sorry for being so ignorant...trying to learn... :)

    Not sure exactly what you want to do with the header but the following seems to look pretty good! And by the way I use google chrome as my browser which comes built in with some handy "developer tools" if I right click and select "inspect element" I can see the css rules applied to that element and the html. It also allows you to make live changes. meaning you can edit the css/html. Those changes are permanent of course they just allow you to play with the window you're currently looking at. Hope this helps!

    #sidebar-header {
    width: 420px;
    height: auto;
    }

    Paul,

    Thank you for explaining some kindly and clearly.

    I met with a friend for several hours tonight who taught me a lot about web design...SO much more to learn, but it's fun!

    One thing she noticed is that the photos in the right sidebar seem to be blocked in with the login box...she thinks code is messed up there because she tried multiple adjustments to the theme layout in the general WordPress admin. settings for our Pinboard theme, none of which made proper adjustments. She's going to investigate it further.

    If you have any insight, I welcome it!

    Thanks again!
