I've recently installed a few blogs running off the same folder. Customized the themes and imported all the content, but suddenly this week all of my post images are broken, including my header and background images.

    These are two examples:
    http://experienceyork.apps01.yorku.ca/blog/yorkandu/
    http://experienceyork.apps01.yorku.ca/blog/kira/

There is no htaccess file in the uploads folder, so I'm having a hard time tracking down the problem. May I have some assistance?

    Thank you :)

  2. In the html source code, it looks like your images are in a folder called files

    http://experienceyork.apps01.yorku.ca/blog/kira/files/2012/09/kira_blog_bg.jpg

As far as I can see, that folder is missing.

There is something wrong with the html.

    Yours, content="width=device-width, user-scalable=no, initial-scale=1.0, minimum-scale=1.0, maximum-scale=1.0">

    Shoud be, content="text/html;

If I open one of the missing graphics in a browser (yes, the url shown is correct) and then refresh the screen with your site, the graphic show up. I have no idea what the cause is.

Could be a plugin causing it...

i've had various effects from diffrent plugins and settings.

Change your default image folder and such, could be a range of things.

There are a bunch of issues here with image uploads.

    More info:

I have multisite installed. The .htaccess is set up according to the WordPress guide.

The posts and images, however, are acting differently in different browsers.

    Example: http://experienceyork.apps01.yorku.ca/blog/yorkandu/2012/10/19/conquering-university-academics/

In Chrome, I see the background image (http://experienceyork.apps01.yorku.ca/blog/yorkandu/files/2012/09/page_index_bg.jpg), yet the image in the post is broken. If I click on the broken image link (http://experienceyork.apps01.yorku.ca/blog/yorkandu/files/2012/10/1280px-ScottLibraryLearningCommons.jpg) the image displays.

In Firefox the same background image does NOT display and I don't even see a broken image thumb in the post.

All of the images display as broken within the admin panel and I am completely confused as to how to resolve this.

May I please have some assistance?
