images in different browsers (7 posts)

i've looked through the archives and only found unresolved posts that deal with this same question. i'm hoping it has since been resolved but not discussed.

    my site: http://reloadsanear.com/flutebook

my site looks swell in safari, but the images are not loading in firefox, and from what i hear nor in IE. from the archives, i've discerned that specifying a width for images makes firefox unhappy; naturally, that's exactly what makes them look so lovely in safari.

does anybody have any code tricks that appease all browsers so that the variety of people visiting my site can actually view it in all its glory (now that i'm starting to actually generate some traffic, i'm getting complaints!)?

    thanks in advance...

i'm missing all of them, sadly. the text markers appear but no images. i haven't learned how to use css, yet. if it's something minor and you can just tell me, that'd be lovely. if it's more complicated, let me know where i can start reading. =)

The images I see in the source are like

when I try to goto directly to the link, it wants to download the images. Try making the JPG or GIFs and see if those display

interesting. so, i see now that you are right: the jpgs show up, but the tifs don't -- in firefox. however, i had an IE person complain that the page with the jpgs didn't load the images. what would the issue there be? (other than that IE is, well...)

hmm maybe that person needs to clear cache or hold CTRL SHIFT down while clicking refresh to get a fresh copy from the server. I just tested in ie6 and i can see images fine

Greetings. I've run into the same issue, but found that if I saved the .jpgs in photoshop as 'Save for the Web', med or high optimized quality, the images displayed properly in IE. Code was the same for those images that did and didn't show on the same page. It all came down to how the image was saved.
