• I’m completing the process of changing a fairly large site, with a fairly large number of images, to WordPress. After a month I’m very happy with progress (working offline/local using XAMPP) and it’s getting time to bite the bullet and upload/go live. Scary.
Wordpress makes alternative versions of images and now I’ve got a folder of over 4,000 images potentially to upload . . . Is there a way to reduce this, by sifting out the versions that aren’t actually being used/displayed on the site? Or otherwise managing the whole topic of images?
    Thanks for any assistance.

You mean the thumbnails and medium sized images?

Not really. You can control their sizes in Media Settings but I don’t believe you can turn them off.
