it looks like the problem happens only on servers with old version of php (like version 5.2.17).. the current version is 5.4.16…do you know what version of php you are running on?

Ok…here is how to fix this…you need to turn on direct fetch to get the images (Google News presents this problem for some reason). Go to the shortcode admin, look at the bottom where it has a box that says Check if you are having simplepie conflict problems. Check the box and save. Let me know if that doesn’t work as the images from google don’t have fully qualified urls, so I have a fix for that.
Head’s up–I’m still having this problem, too. I ticked the box for simplepie and that made no difference with the broken images.

if the images are broken, look at the RSS feed itself…it is likely the images in the feed are either broken, ill-formed, aren’t fully qualified or something else.
