Hi, please can someone help me. Many of my images on my WordPress site are blurred. As an example please view this:- http://www.thebig7scooterrally.com/media/
I have tried to upload the images in different sizes both larger and smaller as a test, but this does not change anything. However, when I click on an image or view it in my media library the images are sharp and as they should be. I have also gone into my media settings to make sure the large image setting is correct and as for as i know it is ok, 1024 x 1024. I've upload images larger than this, but they still show blurred. Does anyone know how I can resolve this issue please as it's doing my head in. Thank you

Your original image is 213x300 and you are enlarging it to 413x582 - almost double in size. That is why it is blurry.

Hi and thank you for your reply. As mentioned in my previous message, I have uploaded different sizes, large and small but many images are blurred. I have deleted the file you viewed earlier and uploaded a large size 1645 x 2320 but it is still blurred? http://www.thebig7scooterrally.com/media/ What am I doing wrong?

Ok, I have just noticed something. The image I just uploaded (link above) is 1645 x 2320 in size. However, once uploaded and added to the page, if I right click on it, it is showing the size is 583 x 825. I don't understand, what's causing this? Thank you

The image I see is THE-BIG-7-SCOOTER-RALLY-2014-WITH-SPONSOR1-212x300.png. That is 213x300 and resized to 583x825.

It links to the larger size you mentioned and it Chrome it is blurry at full size. Chrome reduces it and it looks fine.

It is always best to have the original image sized by graphic software close to or exactly the size you want.

WordPress will control media according to what you add in settings>>media. I keep it all set to 0 myself as I size with Photoshop.

I don't understand this. The original image is on my desktop now. I right click it and the size is 1645 x 2320 so how can it show as a smaller size. Can you save the image and see what the size is once saved? also, once saved, can you zoom in and it still keep it's clarity? Thank you for your help bye the way

Sorry, our messages crossed. So if that' the case, should I delete a resize every photo and then re-upload. If so what should I size all the photos to and does the dpi matter?

Another strange thing. The main header on every page of my site http://www.thebig7scooterrally.com is 1000 x 328 on my computer. Uploaded to the site it is still 1000 x 328 and it does not blur. So why is this image ok, yet other images are showing as smaller sizes than they were when uploaded? If someone can answer this question and tell me what to do about it I'd be extremely grateful

You don't have to resize if they look ok but . . .
The large one you uploaded was 300 dpi. That is a big overkill which will not effect image quality but will effect load times. I keep mine at 100 dpi just because it is an easy number. DPI has nothing to do with how the image looks on the screen, just file size.

Check, http://test.savethecolors.com/ I have your large image loaded and then the same image reduced to 60% by WordPress (the high dpi remains). I think the large one is blurry because my screen resolution is 1336x780. The last one is at 100 dpi. Original file size 10.9 MB, reduced to 100dpi 1.21 MB.

Thanks for doing this. The reason why the image is large is because I was trying to work this out, so was trying all different sizes. Whatever the size, it ends up blurred. Both the images on your website a much sharper than on my blog. I just don't know where to go from here

I've just saved the three images from your website and uploaded them to mine and added them to the page. Then in edit mode I dragged the corners of the pics to size them. All three are blurred? lol (I say lol, but this is doing my head in) Thank you for your help though
