Images 777 doesn’t solve my problem

    On a PC. Have read up on uploading images. Have same problem as others,get message”Is its parent directory writable by the server? Called server-guy. Changed permissions to 777 (wp-contents, themes, images, WordPress, and file itself) Now I have a picture showing up on my edit page in section called “Upload” and can’t do anything with it. Anybody? Ideas? Many thanks for some help with this! Gizelle
