    Hi all,

I hope I'm posting in the proper place.

I recently signed up with blog.com to write a blog. I have had infinite problems uploading images and setting featured images. I continue to be directed to wordpress sites in order to sort out my problems, but I really have no idea why.

I am operating on a mac.

When I attempt to upload an image, I get this error:

Unable to create directory /srv/www/vhosts/wordpress-blog.com/wp-content/blogs.dir/00/08/55/92/8559273/files/2013/03. Is its parent directory writable by the server?

I know that this is a common error from searching it in google. Everyone says to change file permissions and this and that, but none of it makes any sense: I don't have wordpress software and don't have wp-content folders, etc.

I'm confused as to why blog.com requires all this but makes no mention of wordpress.

I'm using the theme called "Imbalance." I love it. It looks great. But I can't set featured images or do anything image related. I can't build image galleries b/c of the problem uploading.

Does anyone know how to proceed? I've written blog.com several times but have gotten no reply. I would love to continue building this blog but really can't rationalize doing so if I can't ever upload any pictures.

Thanks in advance for any help you may be able to provide!

    Best regards,
    adamos

blog.com is using WordPress for their websites/blogs. If you want to stay with blog.com you'll need to ask your question on their support forum.

If you are interested in a hosted solution that works, try http://WordPress.com

This support forum is for people who have their own hosting account with WordPress installed.

Thanks, Kurt. Understood. I felt like this was probably not the most accurate place to ask my question, but since all my searches led to WordPress, I thought maybe someone else had encountered the same issue.

I appreciate you taking the time to reply!

    Thanks again.
