Imagebrowser – Remove /nggallery/image/ part of URL

Hi!
I’m using this plugin a long time now and until now I used only imagebrowser style preview and I didn’t activate permalinks so my url-s were like http://www.mydomain.com/post-name/?pid=123.
Now, I activated permalinks and I get those standard URL-s
http://www.mydomain.com/category/post-name/NGGALLERY/IMAGE/image-name/
I tried to use mod_rewrite to hide the /nggallery/image/ part of url but with no success. I would like to have cleaner url-s like
http://www.mydomain.com/category/post-name/image-name/
I believe this is doable but I’m not very familiar with mod_rewrite and .htaccess file. I googled everything that crossed my mind but I didn’t find the solution.
Can anyone help?
