   My theme (Canvas by WooThemes) comes without the image widget.

   Is there a way to add that widget?

   'the image widget' is not part of the wordpress standard installation; it is probably a plugin http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/

   if your theme has dynamic sidebar(s), it is probably done by finding, downloading/upoading and activating the 'image widget' plugin.

   it should then be available with the other widgets to drag into the widget areas in 'admin' 'appearance' 'widgets'
