• Hello, I was wondering if anyone knows what it is about the WordPress image upload system that would make Google Chrome NOT automatically download an image link?

Because when I ftp an image that is too large for WordPress into my uploads folder, then point to it to create the image, then turn the image into a link so when people click on it they see the full-size image, Google Chrome automatically downloads it (or asks to download it, if you have it set to that) instead of showing you the larger image via it’s url. But, if you view the url on FireFox it shows the image. Also, if I post just the url, in Google Chrome it will try to download it instead of showing the image.

When you do the same thing with an url from an image that has been uploaded via the normal WordPress image upload system, Google Chrome does not do this behavior, but shows the image as it should.

Does anyone know what’s going on here?

Just went and did some tests, and it only happens with .bmp images

Edit: I just made the .bmp image smaller and uploaded it via the WordPress media upload system, and the same thing is happening, so it looks like it’s a .bmp/Chrome issue. Still any info anyone might have about this would be appreciated.

    Edit x2: Here’s a link to that image – http://www.halodiehards.net/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/test_bmp.bmp
