This is a brand new server- latest Apache, latest MySQL, latest PHP, latest WordPress.
I know this is a common topic. Lots of different ideas have been posted, different .htaccess configurations, uri rewriting, etc.
I tried EVERYTHING I could find. This is a private server, running at home. I have full access to everything. Nothing has helped.
php.ini has 256M of memory allocated.
It does not make a difference if I use the flash uploaded or the browser uploaded. It does not make a difference if I use ie or FireFox.
The 'crunching' progress bar runs all the way to the end, and then I get the http error message.
httpd-error.log does not log anything.
httpd-access.log logs the following:
"POST /wp-admin/async-upload.php HTTP/1.1" 500 - "-" "Shockwave Flash"
Here's the thing:
This only seems to happen with some images.
I have no issue with videos. I have no issues with some different pictures that I found on my machine.
I have tried large files. I have tried small files. I have tried tiff files. I have tried jpegs with embedded profiles. I have tried jpegs with no embedded profiles.
I have noticed that this happens with files created in Adobe. Both Photoshop and Lightroom. I tried exporting a file as TIF, opened in MS Paint, saved as JPG and this one worked.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I can provide these images, if that would help anyone.
Thanks in advance,
Michael
