[resolved] Image Uploader doesnt work in version 3.3 (6 posts)

After installing version 3.3 of WordPress I find that the Image Uploader isnt working properly.

When I click on insert image or save changes - its the same in both cases, the image uploader window then displays a mini version of my website with the dashboard menu list at the top! As if its in some kind of loop.

And no, although it uploads the image to the site, it does NOT insert the image in the post.

What can be done about this? Is it a bug in WordPress 3.3?

Im amazed that a new version of wordpress can be released without testing such basic matters first.

Im using Google Chrome on Windows Vista. The old version of wordpress did not have this problem. Now I am unable to insert images.

I guess I will have to go back to the previous version of wordpress.

Another thing that is annoying are all these "helpful tip" windows that appear all over the place whenever you move the mouse. I have to keep clicking on "dismiss" to get rid of them. Improvements that arent!

I have deactivated and slowly reactivated my plugins. It appears that the problem is an incompatibility between version 3.3 and the WordPress Firewall 2 Version 1.3 by Matthew Pavkov.

I am at least now able to upload and insert images into posts. However the insert post from gallery function does not work. Nothing happens.

I have found a similar issue.
If I want to upload/insert an image into the text of a post, and I click the new "upload/insert" button, the screen dims but no window with "add media" option or anything. Just a dim screen.

This issues affects Safari, but it seems to work in Firefox. I'm comfortable using Firefox but why does this happen in Safari, and gosh, I just wasted a bunch of time figuring out this issue. Grr.

    Read http://wordpress.org/support/topic/troubleshooting-wordpress-33-master-list

Especially the part about flushing your browser cache.

    Hey Ipstenu:

That solved it. Emptying the Browser cache was the issue. Didn't occur to me to try that right away; for some reason I thought I would grumble first.

You are a mighty support elf !
    Thanks mate

Yeah, I need to find a dwarf and go storm the castle about why caches aren't (correctly) going 'Oh, there's a new file! I need that!' and instead holding on to old JS files which make it look like things are broken.
