image upload permissions

    hello

    i have recently transfered my localhost wp-install from wamp to my webspace but have a problem with the permissions wordpress or mysql is giving my file uploads.

    when i upload manually via filezilla the images are fine with correct permissions 664. when i upload via wordpress the file gets 660 and wont display.

    there must be a setting in wordpress or my database that is giving these different permissions?

    is it in functions.php? i think it has something to do with user being apache or something like this.

    any help apreciated.

    I think you’re right and that this is an issue you need to discuss with your hosts as it’s controlled by the server – not WordPress.

    ah, esmi. as welcoming and personable as ever – a joy to the community.

    i have raised a ticket with my host and will wait for a response.
