Image Upload Error (3 posts)

    Hey Folks

I recently downloaded, unzipper and installed WP on my 2nd website. Everything seemed to be going fine. I made an initial post, and it's all OK. So I tried to upload an image on my 2nd post, and I can't seem to get anywhere. Initially I got an error message indicating one of the folders permissions wasn't set correctly. I fiddled with af ew, and now I get a new message:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: imagecreatetruecolor() in /disk3/home2/web/beginner/carl/ramblings/wp-admin/includes/image.php on line 68

I've searched all over, and I find a lot of error messages and threads about image uploads, but nothing specifically to do with this one. The image is actually uploaded in the folder (I use Fetch fot my ftp stuff, and I can see in there that the image is there - though I didn't upload it with fetch).

The permissions for the folders uploads/2007/11 are all set at 777.

    I'd really appreciate your help.

    Thank you.

    Cheers

    Carl

    Hey Folks

Just to add to the mystery, if I DO upload a file using Fetch, it does seem to appear in the "browse" gallery, and works when I send it to the editor. But I'd really rather not have to that manually everytime.

All assistance very much appreciated, thank you.

    Cheers

    Carl

I have this same problem, but if I remove my php.ini in the /etc/ folder it switches errors and just says "Failed to upload image".

I noticed this thread was ignored. Let's try to revive it and see if we can get them to come forth regarding some suggested fixes.
