• So far I am liking your plugin a lot, and how it displays… Just one thing that I need to be able to do is make invisible/prevent the image titles/filenames from showing, letting the only text in the lightbox be the caption, which displays very nicely… My image titles are “ugly,” so to speak, simple coded language and numbers to identify and keep track of them… The titles are very obviously there, so to speak..

I’ve searched around a good bit for a selector I might use display:none with, wondering if I could maybe reach it through a .gallery.xx selector perhaps, but none I’ve tried have worked… So hoping you might be able to tell me how, maybe through a fluidbox css selector, or possibly some other way…?

The titles need to go for me to be able to use the plugin, which I’d like to keep using… I get a good feeling about it… 🙂

    Kind regards.

  • Hello John, thanks for your message.

I’m not sure what you are talking about exactly. Possible to get a screenshot with a marker/highlight for this? Would be awesome!

Hello Flowdee, and thank you for getting back to me…

Could you give me an email address to send a screenshot to, please…?

    Regards.

You can post links to screenshots

I know to do that, but I have some protections that I’ll need to set up an unprotected directory to get around, and so before I do,

and maybe in less words, just in case it is helpful and saves the need of a screenshot:

In the lightbox presentation, there is the image caption, that appears somewhat centered and close under the image….

Then there is the image title, that appears slightly further down, in a larger font size, and justified somewhat to the left…

I need to make the image title go away completely…

    😉

    OK here is screenshot…

You can see the caption, not centered as I mis-remembered, but to the left below, and a bit further down and a bit further to the left the title, in much larger font size…

The title needs to go away… We use titles as a way to sort and identify images, for our own purposes, and the captions to share something about the images, on a website…

Can you provide me a demo url via email here to get a deeper look into your concern?

You screenshot – to be honest – doesn’t look like the fluidbox plugin.

To be honest, it is the fluidbox plugin.

The site is protected from view with a plugin, so that one needs to be logged in at some level to even see it… It is not the domain I sent the screenshot through… It is still in development, and the owner does not want it to be accessible to the public, not even accidentally… So I created a limited user ID to send to you along with links, so you can actually view your plugin in action in the way I am describing…

But, when I went to your contact page I found that the the captcha is not working… All I get is what typically happens when an image or file is not found, I.E., a little blue box with a question-mark in Chrome’s case… Tried in Chrome, Firefox and Safari, same issue… I don’t have problems with contact pages, use them a whole lot making inquiries, as well as on sites I’ve created, so it is not on my end that it is happening…

I am using the native WP gallery with your plugin activated, so as to have a lightshow/fluidbox working and available with it, with galleries presently set up on two different types of pages, using the Divi 2.0 theme… It works fine, and I like the way it presents a little more than another one I have used for this in the past… With that one though I can turn off the title, with the plugin author recognizing that image titles most often are in a shorthand that helps keep track of them, and not meant for public view…

I’m getting the feeling you are not all that anxious to engage my inquiry, and maybe suggest how i might remove the title, perhaps using CSS… If that is the case maybe you could just say so, and I will move on… There are other galleries/lightshows…

Here are two more screenshots showing your plugin activated in the installed plugins pane, and it’s setting page…
    http://www.spiritawake.net/hotlink-ok/shot2.jpg
    http://www.spiritawake.net/hotlink-ok/shot3.jpg

If you are not able to believe it is your plugin even after seeing three screenshots of it then that itself may be the sign to move on…

But maybe not, see how you respond to this…

    Hey John,

of course I believe that you are using the plugin, don’t worry. Just seems different to me. Hope you can understand that I’m not able to debug anything without getting a link/demo to take a deeper look into.

If possible send me direct mail to support@flowdee.de it’s the same you would be directed by using the contact form.

I want to help with your problem and even improve the plugin if possible! So I’m really interested in your case.

    (@crzyhrse)

Not a bug, not a problem… it is a simple request really, except I guess it is not… Is there a CSS selector, ID or Class, for the image title display, so I can apply something like “display:none” to it, in my child theme style.css, so that the title for the image, not the caption but the title, does not display…

If you wanted to improve the plugin it might be to offer choices in the plugin’s settings pane to display one, the other, both, or not… And of course that is up to you… For my purposes, to use your plugin as it is, I need to turn off the display of the title…

If this does not seem simple to you then getting more complicated via email is not going to be helpful to either of us…

I am going to let this rest now…

    Kind regards,

    John.

Thanks so far for your feedback.

To be honest I can’t really follow you at all. In fact the lightbox plugin doesn’t display any title or tags in the frontend as you can see on the demo page: http://coder.flowdee.de/fluidbox-for-wordpress/demo/

And due to the fact you won’t offer me a link to see your page in action I’m not able to comprehend your request in detail.
