Image sizing isn't making sense

    I’m admittedly a wordpress newbie, but up until this point I thought I had a decent handle of things. My site has images that when clicked on are FAR larger then what they’re suppose to be.

    For example if you click one of my images to view it from my post or try to save it then it is 5197 x 6047 pixels. However the image that I uploaded from my PC is 1027 x 1195. When I check my media library it still says the image is 1027 x 1195.

    I’ve deleted the images from my posts and cleared the library then re-uploaded them. Same problem.

    Deactivate all plugins and switch to twenty fourteen theme.

    I just tried. After disabling all plugins and changing the theme I re-uploaded the images. Same problem.

    In dashboard under media settings what are the numbers?

    Where are these images coming from? What are you using to re-size them?

    So I left my site for 10 hours and when I came back the images were the correct size when I right clicked and downloaded them. I’m not sure what fixed it as they were still huge when I was last online.

    The images were uploaded from my c drive and I had re-sized them using paint.
