Image ordering not working (11 posts)

I cant get the thumbnails to go in the right order. I've tried using both the shortcodes and also changing the settings.

In the settings, changing the folder options seems to have no affect, but changing the image order has some success, except it seems that ordering by name or caption both actually order by thename

They only want to orderby title, nothing else.. Changing from ASC to DESC with the shortcodes seems to work but nothing else does.

What i want is for them to order by the caption, desc

Here's thesite, the one image withthe caption 4 is out in the middle of nowhere, and the only reason 1, 2, and 3 are in the proper place is because i've also changed the name

It doesn't work. I'll see how to fix it. Thanks for your report.

    The development version is fixed.
Captions for thumbnails are stored in the post excerpts. However, the WordPress query does not allow to order by excerpt. I have add a filter and it should work now with the development version.

    thanks for the quick response!

Something still isn't working though, I've tried updating the plugin with both the development version, and the 0.1.0-RC-14-debug version and it's still not ordering properly.

Also, it's the settings version that should be working with this update, not the shortcode?

    What theme do you use?
I don't understand your last question.

    Its my own custom theme.

After you fixed the plugin, how do i get that working on my site? I was assuming i needed to download and install the latest development version, but after doing that the images are still not ordering properly

You have to go to Settings -> Eazyest Gallery to set this option again.
BTW, the ordering may not work yet in Admin.

Ok, it's still not working on my site.. How do I get this working? Or do I need to wait for the next version?

You could download the development version and (ftp) copy it over you current version.

I have a similar issue - I have a number of folders with files in each. They are named things like cover.jpg, p.1.jpg, p.2.jpg etc

    There are several issues:
    1. I can not get it to sort so that it works alphabetically, like p.1.jpg comes before p.2.jpg etc.
    2. For some the count is wrong. I look in the folder and there are exactly 8 items, plus a _cache folder that looks like it was just created today. Yet the total says "14 photos". Deleting the _cache folder does not change the count. (Deleting it on one of them messes that folder up, so I see that it is created by E.G. BTW, how do you recreate it? Deactivating and reactivating the plugin does not do so - I think just renaming it seems to work. Is there a way to have it rescan them all to correct the counts and orders?).

This is so close to what would be so helpful - a WordPress plugin that lets you just use the contents of a folder per gallery post with comments. Something I would easily donate to.

Anyway, suggestions on getting the sort order correct etc?

I did figure out that if I rename the folder, it will rescan it. This both recreates the cache, and it seems to fix the image count issue. If you are looking for a feature request, how about a button that lets you rescan the image directory hierarchy? :-) (I don't know why it counted wrong at first though.)

I still can't figure out why the sorting order won't work there.
