    I have encountered this problem recently, and I can’t seem to figure out what is wrong.

    When I upload an image, no problem. WordPress gives me the code to display it:
    <img src=’/wp-content/Shoulder.jpg’ alt=’shoulder’ />

    Just like always. I copy and paste this directly into my blog.

    When I save, publish, and view my blog, I see the alternate text: shoulder

    I tried copying and pasting the image code from an image I uploaded in December of last year:
    <img src=’/wp-content/1.jpeg’ alt=’arss’ />

    This time, when I save, publish, and view my blog, I can see the image just fine. I do not see the alternate text.

    I haven’t changed any of the settings between last month and now (that I am aware of), but somehow it won’t display anything I have uploaded since January 1.

    My computer info:
    Mac Os X 14.4.8
    Firefox 1.5.0.7

    FYI: When I view my blog in Safari, instead of the alternate text it displays a little blue box with a question mark.

    It turns out it was saving to a sub-folder. Check your options for uploading under miscellaneous – anyone out there who makes this mistake.
