I have uploaded image to Media library and copied the url of where it is stored. When I enter the url in my browser, the image is fine. The problem is that when I enter the url in the showcase sidebar it displays the text and not the image on the blog.
I have checked everything that I can. Can anyone advise what the problem can be?

i don't know how the inove showcase sidebar works, but usually to show an image in a website you would use a html image tag:
<img src="yourimageurl" /> -
