Image instead of standard header? (10 posts)

    Hi, fellow-word presses!
    Is it possible ONLY to have an image as a header? In most themes, I've looked through, you can easily have a header image, but only as a supplement to the page title and tagline.

    I actually thought that it was a standard option in WordPress, but I have now looked through different forums and tried many themes without any solution. On the other hand, I can, if I make a quick google search, see that many have the same problem as me.

    If I am incomprehensible, so you can see the problem http://www.rotatingrembrandt.dk. I use the theme "responsive", but I have, as earlier mentioned, tried a couple of themes.

    Please help me!

    Kind regards, Benjamin Esbjerg

    Yes you can have the header image without the site title. With some themes, you can disable the site title and tag line. Look at this picture:

    If you give us a link to your site, then somebody will give you the css code to disable this on themes that don't support via the WP.

    Good luck.

    @mytaxsite.co.uk I don't think that he was referring to the site title, but also possible with Responsive Theme from Appearance > Header.

    What's confusing here was the word "header" Benjamin is most likely talking about "headings" like post/page titles and any Theme (including) Responsive that supports "featured images" can do that.

    See this random video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7KEsCtRb-S8 and you can hide titles with:

    .post-title {
        display: none;
    }

    Having images -vs the actual text isn't common, but people use them in Themes.

    Thanks,
    Emil

    Emil, your right - i'øm talking about the header, which you find at the top of your site and control in Appearance > Header. And that makes mytaxsite.co.uk right as well.

    My site is http://www.rotatingrembrandt.dk/ and to make it easier to understand, i'm going to keep my site the way it is now, so anyone interested can take a look.
    The problem is, that the header, i made in Photoshop only covers about a fifth of the total with of the site.

    I made a blog once on blogspot - http://trummelum.blogspot.dk/ - and here it was easy to make my own site header without any troubles. I can't understand why it is so complicated in wordpress, when it's so simple in blogspot, which only covers about 1/1000 of wordpress options.

    You already switched to another Theme :) This was too quick!

    And just an FYI this was easy as 1,2,3. It takes about 2 minutes to change: http://themeid.com/forum/topic/521/how-to-change-default-logo/

    I've changed it back now.
    I'm not trying to change the logo. I know how to do that. I'm trying to change the proportions, so my current header will cover the entire width of the site, and not just the 300 pixels, which the standard logo and my current header fills up.

    So it should be as on: http://www.rotatingrembrandt.dk/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/copy-cropped-header1.png correct? If so you can drag it across the site, when you're uploading the header image back in, which was this http://i.imgur.com/b51Xf.png

    Thanks,
    Emil
