    Hey all,

I currently have this site http://77pixels.com and I have it where I put a large image up as the preview and I do this by adding the <!--more--> tag. But is there a way that I can have it so this is shown for the preview, but not in the actual post?

Also is it possible to have it so when hovered over the image a greyed out area raises up with some details and the if the image is clicked it goes to the post.

Dunno if there is a plugin to do this or a way to post in a way like this.

Thanks in advance for any help :D

    Hi,

I'm using a custom field with each post with the filename of an uploaded image as the post's preview image @ http://howto.werideonsundays.com

I'll try to write a guide or a plugin for this soon, but it wasn't too difficult, knowing a little php and Googling for help with the custom fields.

    btw, your site is down!

Well, if you don't want the image to show up at all in the post, you can do this easily with CSS. Instead of using the <!--more--> tag, make the image the very first thing in the post, and set a class to it. Then, in your stylesheet, set it to "display:none;" when its on the actual single post page. Just reserve that class for images that you don't want to show up in the actual post (and yeah, use the <!--more--> tag *after* the image.)

As for a greyed out area, you could probably also do that with CSS using an image swap (I have a tutorial for a CSS image swap on my site). Otherwise you'll have to use javascript or something.
