Image Editor changes don't take effect after post has been saved (4 posts)

On my test site, I just tried uploading an image into a post and cropping it. I forgot to hit "Save" before inserting it into the post, so it used the full image. I then went into my medial library and successfully cropped the image.

One problem - The post wasn't updated, and still uses the original image. This creates a mismatch between what's in a blog's media library and what's in use on the blog itself, which could certainly cause confusion.

Though the problem is pretty straightforward, if you wish to see the example..

(note that the test blog's theme changes depending on which of my websites I'm testing for; I set it to the default theme for this test)

Delete the image from your post and then re-insert it.

I know how to manually fix it, but I left it as-is since it's not an active site, and not fixing it demonstrates the problem. The point of the post was that the behavior appears to be both non-intuitive and inconsistent (i.e. a bug). I should have been more clear that I was reporting an issue with WordPress 2.9, and not posting a request for support.

Can you confirm actual insertion of the edited image at all? We're trying to figure out why the original images are getting inserted even though the Editor appears to be functioning, here ...
