Image Directory Change for Photon

We recently made a switch in our site structure, merging a blog site into our main site. As such, many of the blog image URLs stored by Photon are no longer correct and we have missing images.

The change we made was down one directory, so:
http://usarivercruises.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/
to
http://usarivercruises.com/wp-content/uploads/

We have a directory redirect setup (and working), so will Photon eventually detect the change? Or is there something we need to do?

It should update since the file path has changed – but it isn’t instantaneous.

Do you have a page where the images have not updated? Once I have that information, I’ll be happy to take a closer look.

Here’s a page where the items haven’t updated:

Here’s an example of an image that IS updating if I enter the origin URL (this is the first missing image on the page):
http://usarivercruises.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/mx_9_enjoy_pods_dolphins_in_100s.jpg?zoom=2&resize=300%2C200

Its Photon URL is:
http://i2.wp.com/usarivercruises.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/mx_9_enjoy_pods_dolphins_in_100s.jpg?zoom=2&resize=300%2C200

Thanks for that!

I don’t see any missing images anymore, but they’er still referring to the /blog/ subfolder. I did a bit more checking and I show an active Jetpack connection for “usarivercruises.com/blog/” in addition to your usarivercruises.com domain. However, any of your posts under the /blog/ subfolder are using the usarivercruises.com blog ID.

I think this other connection might be the reason why your Photon images aren’t updating.

Can you let me know whether or not you need that specific connection anymore and I can remove it from our end.

Yeah we transferred everything over so we don’t need that /blog/ connection…

Ok, I disconnected that site.

Let me know if you still have issues after a day or so. We may need to do a few more things to force the update to the Photon images.

In the meantime, please let me know if you have any questions.
