[resolved] Image Codex Tutorial Does Not Work (9 posts)

    I have been killing myself trying to get text to wrap around images in a post. The Code in the tutorial does not work when viewed in IE. As we all know IE is the most widely used browser, so having it look fine in Fire Fox and Opera doesn't cut it.

    I am at my wits end with this one, I even tried straight HTML code in the post and it doesn't work. In IE the image is blank.

    Another blogger I am helping has the same problem.

    Can anyone shed some light on this problem?

    Actually, it din't work as given:

    .img-shadow {
    clear: both;
    float:left;
    background: url(images/shadowAlpha.png) no-repeat bottom right !important;
    background: url(images/shadow.gif) no-repeat bottom right;
    margin: 20px 0 0 17px !important;
    margin: 20px 0 0 8px;
    }
    .img-shadow img {
    display: block;
    position: relative;
    background-color: #fff;
    border: 1px solid #a9a9a9;
    margin: -6px 6px 6px -6px;
    padding: 4px;
    }

    Correct code:

    .img-shadow {
    clear: both;
    float: left;
    position: relative;
    background: url(images/shadowAlpha.png) no-repeat bottom right !important;
    background: url(images/shadow.gif) no-repeat bottom right;
    margin: 20px 0 0 17px !important;
    margin: 20px 0 0 8px;
    }
    .img-shadow img {
    display: block;
    position: relative;
    background-color: #fff;
    border: 1px solid #a9a9a9;
    margin: -6px 6px 6px -6px;
    padding: 4px;
    }

    I have used this:
    .img-shadow {clear:both;float:left;background:url(images/shadow.gif) no-repeat bottom right;margin:20px 4px 4px 8px}
    without any problems since I wrote the tutorial.
    Still - so long as you got it work :)

    Which part of your CSS sheet do you enter these codes? Thank you for your reply. I am trying to solve text wrap issue as well

    Anywhere. Put it at the end, so you can find it if needed.

    podz, without position relative the picture will not display in IE.
