Hello. First of all thank you to the author(s) for the time and effort put into this theme.

I'm just putting my first post together and I've included an image. The theme showed a thumbnail of that image on the excerpt on the home page. However, when I changed the image in the post, the excerpt continued to show the thumbnail for the removed image. The only way I could find to get rid of it was to delete the image completely from the media library.

Please tell me, what is the correct way to change the thumbnail associated with an excerpt?

Please note that I am not using the "featured image" functionality, (mainly because the dimensions of the images I'll be using will vary enormously). I am asking here specifically about the thumbnail which is auto-selected when an image is inserted into a post without the use of that functionality.

    Thanks in advance,
    m

Hello, I'd still like to know the correct way to change the thumbnail associated with an excerpt but in the meantime I've found a couple of workarounds that add up to what I need.

Basically, I'm using the "featured image" functionality to select the thumbnail I want displayed with the post excerpt, then using css to hide the featured image which appears at the top of the full post.

That approach solves part of the problem, and I messed with index.php to clean up other aspect of it, which occurs due of displaying the full content of the most recent post on the home page rather than just an excerpt.

Site's here if anyone is interested.

Giving this a bump as I'd like to know how this works too. In one particular case, I added two images to a post and it picked the second image as the post thumbnail.

No idea why or how this works - any insights would be appreciated! I'm having to hack the theme so I can use the featured image and hide it on the post. Not ideal really.
