image browser only sends text to editor (9 posts)

    Hey there,
I manage a site for a bunch of clients and I recently installed WP 2.0 and love it, but there's a problem that's causing all of my clients trouble. I've read through all the old posts and haven't found it anywhere.

    The site is http://www.beauxpaint.com/sketchersroyal/

Here's the problem: I upload my picture to display, I click on it and set it to upload the original. However, if I click and drag it into the post or if I click "send to editor" all that shows up is a bunch of text.

The weirdest thing is that I use firefox 1.0.3 and I don't have this problem. However, if you use firefox 1.5 or any other browser (ie or safari) then the image browser doesn't work as mentioned.

I would really appreciate some help because I'm responsible and I can't fix it on my own. Thanks.

I'm having a similar problem. I use Safari also.
I can upload just fine, and the edit menu works, but there seems to a bug in the javascript. All that shows for 'send to editor' is: void()

Has the core been corrupted? Is there an update or a fix?

Suppose you tried a different browser besides Safari? Then what happens?

    Same problem here!

Worked fine until i installed Opera 9. Same problem in WinXp Opera, GNU/Gentoo Opera,Firefox and OSX Opera,Safari.

Presume its Java relateed, but how do we fix it? Or is it an issue for WP dev?

I have the same problem. Doesn't look like anyone concerned with site development is noticing. Anyone of you figured out a workaround?

Seems like this only happened for me when I installed 2.0.4 - and yeah, javascript problem.

It occurs in IE and Firefox, tho'

I was missing a bunch of files in my wp-includes/js folder. That fixed it for me.

(although my quicktags are still not showing up in my HTML editor)

I present a workaround to that problem here:
