I try to access 'bg.jpg' which is properly uploaded to FTP.
it takes me to "www.domain.com/images/bg.jpg/" which is NOT the image but the home page! Why does it take me to a page with the trailing slash???
I have many working images on my website, but 2-3 of them have this prolem
Are these all images that you uploaded by FTP?
Is WordPress installed in your root domain?

FileZilla upload ... New to FileZilla.
WP in root folder.
You'll need to edit your .htaccess file to redirect all calls to your images folder before the WordPress rewrite block.
