   Is the default template (Kubrick) supposed to be loaded and viewable from the get go? Or do I have to upload it? From the dashboard, when I click on "Visit Site", all it says is,

   "This site is under development
   This is a default template, indicating that the webmaster has not yet uploaded a Web site to the server.

   For information on how to build or upload a site, please visit your web hosting company's site."

   Can anyone offer some guidance here? thanks! :)

   That's your web host's default index.html (or index.htm or default.html,etc.). Delete it. The only default document you want in your blog's directory is the index.php that WordPress installed.
